decided to stop asking when life with two kids gets easier and start actually being a person again even when it’s hard because i just really don’t love the version of myself i’ve been lately🥺 #postpartumjourney #momof2 #naptimereset #4monthsold #sahmroutine
As a mom of two kids, I know firsthand how overwhelming life can feel when you're juggling a toddler and a baby. One strategy that’s really helped me is embracing the concept of 'radical acceptance'—acknowledging the exhaustion and emotional ups and downs without judgment. For example, during my toddler's nap, I focus on spending quiet, awake windows with my 4-month-old, which strengthens our bond and gives me a moment of calm amidst the chaos. It's easy to feel lost or disconnected from your previous self during the postpartum journey, but I learned that small daily routines like adjusting nap schedules and carving out moments for myself can bring back a sense of identity. Resetting the naptime routine has been a game-changer, allowing me to manage both kids’ needs better and sneak in some much-needed rest. Most importantly, I stopped waiting for life to 'get easier' and began accepting that motherhood is challenging, yet it doesn’t mean I have to lose myself in the process. Practicing self-compassion has helped me love the current version of myself, even when it’s hard. To all moms out there on a similar journey, remember you’re not alone—embrace the imperfections and find joy in the everyday moments.
