things i did in costa rica 🇨🇷

i just got back from a week in costa rica! here are a couple things that i did during my stay. 🥳

🛁 rincón de la vieja: this is a volcano where you can get in a mud bath and swim in hot springs. there’s a lot of hiking to get to the hot springs so keep that in mind when planning this excursion.

💦 oropendola waterfall: this is a beautiful waterfall that you can actually swim in. the water is freezing but the scenery is amazing. this is around the same area as the volcano so there’s also a lot of hiking for this one.

🧗‍♀️zip lining at congo trail: this activity is super tiring because it’s 10 different lines and it’s an hour of zip lining and hiking. the workers are really nice and go with you through each line. the only thing is the give you gloves so you can brake which gave me a bit of an anxiety. this is the best zip lining place in guanacaste and it’s worth the money.

🏝️ beaches: they were both very pretty beaches but if it rains it tends to turn brown and you really don’t want to swim in it. also if the tides are too high you can’t go scuba diving or swim in it. they water is also cold in high tide days and warmer in good weather.

🦔 animal/butterfly sanctuary at diamante: the sanctuary is super cool and they have a lot of animals found in costa rica. you can also walk through the butterfly sanctuary and it’s sooo cute!! the butterflies were my favorite part! they also have transportation from close hotels and between the diamanté land.

🦋i highly recommend these excursions and i loved costa rica!!

... Read moreCosta Rica is a paradise for nature and adventure lovers, boasting diverse ecosystems and vibrant wildlife. Exploring Rincon de la Vieja provides a unique opportunity to experience volcanic activity. The mud baths not only refresh but are also believed to have therapeutic benefits. The Oropendola Waterfall offers a refreshing swim surrounded by lush greenery, perfect for a hot day. Make sure to prepare for the hike, as access to these beautiful sites often requires a bit of effort. Another must-try experience is zip lining at the Congo Trail, where you can soar through the treetops while witnessing the stunning landscapes. While zip lining may seem daunting, it is operated by experienced staff who ensure your safety. Visiting the Diamante Animal and Butterfly Sanctuary is a delightful experience, allowing visitors to appreciate the diverse fauna of Costa Rica up close. With well-maintained paths and engaging displays, the sanctuary offers insight into conservation efforts. Additionally, it’s vital to check local weather conditions before heading to the beaches, as rain can significantly affect water quality for swimming and other water activities. Overall, Costa Rica is full of enchanting places to explore, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking adventure and natural beauty.
