Make Your Own Shelve Stable CBD Lotion
CBD has a multitude of healing benefits for your skin. Here is a simple recipe to make your own.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of a carrier oil (such as coconut oil or sweet almond oil)
- 1/4 cup of shea butter or cocoa butter
- 1/4 cup of beeswax pellets
- 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil
- 1 teaspoon of CBD oil (ensure it is a reputable brand with a verified CBD content)
- Essential oils of your choice for fragrance (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a double boiler or a heatproof bowl placed over a pot of simmering water, melt the carrier oil, shea or cocoa butter, and beeswax pellets together. Stir occasionally until fully melted and well mixed.
2. Once melted, remove the mixture from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
3. Add the vitamin E oil and CBD oil to the mixture. Stir well to combine.
4. If desired, add a few drops of essential oils for fragrance. Lavender or peppermint essential oil work well, but you can choose a scent that appeals to you. Mix thoroughly.
5. Carefully pour the mixture into a clean, sterilized container for storage. Airtight glass jars or plastic containers work well for this purpose.
6. Allow the lotion to cool completely and solidify before sealing the container.
7. Store the CBD lotion in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It should remain stable for several months.
Remember to perform a patch test on a small area of your skin to check for any allergic reactions before applying the lotion to larger areas. Additionally, consult with a healthcare professional or pharmacist to ensure CBD oil is suitable for your needs and to determine the appropriate dosage for your desired effects.
Please note that while this recipe aims to create a shelf-stable CBD lotion, it's always recommended to observe the lotion for any signs of spoilage or changes in appearance, texture, or smell. If any such changes occur, it means the lotion may have expired and should be discarded.
