📍Japaneasy Eats

🍜: Tonkotsu Ramen

💰: $7.80

Was surprised to find out thr was ramen being sold at a coffee shop so i haddd to go try heehee the ramen itself was nubbad ngl broth wasn't too milky or thick and the noodles were on the thinner side and were perfectly cooked🤤💯 but ingredients wise thr were oni noodles, broth and 2 slices of meat kansksn,, need to top up more for egg which hmm lowkey i expected it to be included shsks 😔 (we didn't top up since we were gonna get the scotch egg!)

Ps. special shoutout the the salad it was amazing sia not too saucy and pretty light in flavour which went well w the tonkotsu broth :D

🥚: Scotch Egg Katsu

💰: $6.80

2nd time trying scotch eggs and OK ABIT DIFF FRM WUT I EXPECTED HAHHA wanted to get a nice shot of the cross section but the egg was slightly undercooked so the cross section pic ended up looking messy😔😔 regardless the egg itself wasn't bad per say but i prob wldnt get this agn🤧 the fried exterior overpowered the meat and egg interior imo...😓 at least for mine bec the scotch eggs pics on google looked so pretty😔😔

... Read moreIf you find yourself wandering around Ang Mo Kio and craving Japanese flavors, Japaneasy Eats offers a surprisingly cozy spot to try some staples like Tonkotsu Ramen and Scotch Egg Katsu without breaking the bank. From my experience, the Tonkotsu Ramen here stands out because it doesn't have that overwhelmingly rich, milky broth many other places serve. Instead, it has a milder taste, which I personally enjoyed because it felt lighter and less heavy on the stomach. The noodles are thinner than usual but cooked just right, giving that perfect bite that complements the broth well. However, toppings are minimal—just the noodles, broth, and two slices of meat—so if you prefer more ingredients like eggs or extra toppings, be prepared to pay a bit more. On the side, I highly recommend trying their salad; it’s refreshingly light with just the right amount of dressing, balancing nicely with the ramen’s savory broth. As for the Scotch Egg Katsu, it's a bit of a hit and miss in my opinion. The fried exterior is crispy but tends to overpower the egg and meat inside, which was a little disappointing since I expected a more balanced flavor based on pictures I'd seen online. Plus, mine was slightly undercooked inside, so the presentation wasn’t the best. It’s a unique twist on a scotch egg though, and others might enjoy the stronger fried flavor more than I did. Overall, Japaneasy Eats is worth a visit if you’re in Ang Mo Kio and looking for affordable Japanese eats with a local twist. The ambiance is casual, and the prices are reasonable, making it a good choice for casual dining or a quick bite. Whether you want to explore their ramen offerings further or give the scotch egg another shot, it’s a nice spot for Japanese food enthusiasts to check out. P.S. The location in 332 Ang Mo Kio is convenient and easy to find, perfect for foodies in the neighborhood looking for something new to try.
