food is fuel
i get this comment all the time… people are always shocked when they see how many times i eat in a day
but to be active, to work out, to laugh, to actually feel happy, to put energy into the things i love, to live, to function… you need food.
i remember skipping breakfast. trying to “save” all my calories for one big meal. seeing every bite as a setback instead of the thing that was actually gonna move me forward. i just didn’t understand how to eat with purpose
when i finally started eating more, eating real meals instead of just little snacks i thought were “healthier” or “low cal”… my body literally shrunk
now people are like “you’re so small” “how do you eat so much??” “you’re so lean” but also in the same breath “i eat soooo much”
it’s crazy how quick people are to comment on what you eat and how you look. like yes, of course i care about aesthetics and i work for the way i look… but food is not just about what it’ll make you look like
what you eat should bring you energy, joy, strength. i used to eat until i was stuffed, even when it hurt my stomach so bad. i’d feel so sluggish and uncomfortable, and just kept repeating that cycle — until i finally realized that fueling myself the right way made me feel better in every single part of my life
when you start seeing food as a tool to help you grow, get stronger, feel energized, thrive — everything changes
food isn’t the enemy. it’s literally what helps you become your highest self 🫶🏼

When I first started my journey to truly understand food, I'd often hear people talk about 'nutrition dense diet,' but I didn't fully grasp what it meant. For me, it wasn't just another fad; it was a complete shift from seeing food as calories to seeing it as pure, unadulterated energy for everything I do. It's about making every bite count, choosing foods that pack the most vitamins, minerals, and macronutrients without a lot of empty calories. I used to think 'eating healthy' meant endless salads and tiny portions, but I always felt drained. I needed fuel for my demanding schedule: hitting 'my workout' sessions, channeling creativity into 'my journal,' bringing energy to 'my clients,' and even simply enjoying 'my laughter' and 'my dancing.' That's when I realized my body wasn't getting what it truly needed. Switching to a nutrient-dense approach meant embracing whole, unprocessed foods. Think vibrant fruits and veggies, lean proteins like chicken and fish, healthy fats from avocados and nuts, and complex carbohydrates like sweet potatoes and quinoa. These aren't just "good for you" foods; they are the powerhouses that keep you going! One of the biggest changes for me was learning to stop fearing carbs and fats. For so long, diet culture had demonized them. But once I started incorporating healthy fats and complex carbs judiciously, my energy levels soared. My recovery after 'my workout' improved dramatically, and I had the sustained mental clarity needed for 'my business.' It’s about listening to your body's signals, truly understanding what makes you feel energized and vibrant, not just full. Practically, what does this look like in my daily life? It means starting my day with a breakfast packed with fiber and protein – maybe a big bowl of oatmeal with berries and seeds, or scrambled eggs with spinach. Lunch and dinner involve generous portions of colorful vegetables alongside a quality protein source. I snack on fruits, nuts, or Greek yogurt. It's about being prepared, too; I often do a little meal prep on Sundays so I always have wholesome options ready. This way, I avoid reaching for those 'low cal' snacks that ultimately leave me feeling hungry and unsatisfied. It’s been incredible to see how this approach has transformed not just my physical appearance, but my overall well-being. I used to feel sluggish, but now I have boundless energy for 'my dancing' and showing up fully for 'my clients.' This isn't about restriction; it's about abundance – abundant energy, abundant health, and truly thriving. When you feed your body with what it truly craves at a cellular level, every aspect of your life benefits. It's more than just a diet; it's a lifestyle that empowers you to be your best self.
