2B bike license (so far)

Hey everyone! Back with another post! 🤟🏻

Will be recording down my 2B journey so that i dont procrastinate and finish it as soon as i can, but i hope that this post also serves as maybe an inspiration or encouragement for those who want to but have yet to sign up for their 2B 😅

I’ve been taking my 2B lessons at BBDC for the past few months now and it hasn’t been easy with lots of set backs and discouragements on my part mostly but here’s where i’m at currently:

Theory lessons:

Completed both BTL 1.01, 1.02 and RTL 1.01, 1.02

Did my best to focus on the lessons but im more of a hands on learner so after lessons i’d usually watch videos of motorbike tutorials and revise on road signs and rules

Practical lesson 1:

Completed lessons 1.01,1.02 and 1.03

The first few lessons were quite daunting since i’ve never rode a bike before but i’ve sat as a pillion years ago. Getting to know the Honda CB125 was a bag of mixed experiences 😂 dropped the bike on my first lesson because it was heavy and i couldn’t pick it up at all 🤧 but when i was riding it, it felt really good especially in lessons 2 and 3 where we could practice shifting up to higher gears and going fast. The only set back i had was that i was unconfident during 1.02 and i had to retake the lesson again but eventually passed it with some confidence and saying fuck it on the second try 😝😂 third lesson went by with a breeze but i do rmb it being slightly wet as it rained earlier and saw a few of the other students attending slip and fall from the wet patches so i was a bit anxious. Nonetheless, it was a really good experience for a first timer and now i can safely say i love bikes more than cars!

Practical lesson 2:

Completed lessons 2.01 and 2.02

lesson 2 was more technical and a bigger challenge compared to previous lessons, 2.01 had left turns, minor to major road and major to minor road turns. It was really challenging trying to focus on the road rules and also the lesson component that i even panicked sometimes during the lessons which caused me to retake both 2.01 and 2.02 twice. On the second attempt for both lessons, i took the advice my instructors gave me and applied them with a bit more confidence and passed thankfully 🙏🙏

Moving on to lesson 3 now and im hoping my confidence in the bike still gets me through 🤧

... Read moreFor those embarking on their Class 2B bike license journey, I've found that choosing the right bike model can really make a difference. While I trained on a Honda CB125, I dream of riding a Yamaha 2B bike, which I hear offers a smoother ride for beginners. Knowing the bike’s engine capacity, typically around 200cc for Class 2B, helps set realistic expectations. Booking slots at BBDC can be competitive, so keep an eye out for updates on when they release lessons to avoid long waits. Practicing theory lessons consistently by revising road signs and rules outside class helped me improve faster. Videos on motorbike techniques were especially useful since I learn better visually. The practical lessons progressively include more complex maneuvers, like left turns and navigating minor to major roads, which can be intimidating. I suggest applying instructors' advice directly and building confidence through repetition even if it means retaking lessons. It's normal to feel panicked at first, but persistence pays off. Also, be careful in wet weather conditions; many students, including myself, found slippery roads challenging. Wearing proper protective gear is a must for safety. Lastly, connecting with fellow learners and sharing experiences, especially in forums tagged #2blicense or #bikelicense, can provide motivation and tips. Remember, everyone’s journey is unique, and embracing the ups and downs will help you succeed in earning that 2B license.
