This is a MUST DO when visiting Australia 🇦🇺

When I first planned my Australian adventure, everyone told me about the Great Ocean Road. But let me tell you, actually experiencing it, especially spots like Loch Ard Gorge, was something else entirely! It's one of those places that genuinely takes your breath away. Walking along the wooden boardwalk, approaching Loch Ard Gorge, you immediately understand why it's so famous for its dramatic cliffs. The sheer scale of the limestone cliffs rising from the ocean is just incredible. The views are absolutely stunning, with powerful ocean waves crashing against the rugged rocks below, creating a constant, soothing roar. I remember seeing the calm blue water of the gorge itself, contrasting beautifully with the wilder ocean just beyond. It truly felt like stepping into a hidden sanctuary, a perfect example of Australia's dramatic coastline. Descending to the sandy shores of Loch Ard Gorge beach, you get a completely different perspective. The turquoise water here is so inviting, and the way the dramatic rock cliffs frame the entire scene under a bright blue sky is just picturesque. It's a fantastic spot for photography, or just sitting back and soaking in the natural beauty. I spent ages just watching the waves and admiring the ancient formations. You can also explore the small caves and learn about the historic shipwreck that gives the gorge its name – a fascinating, albeit tragic, backstory that adds another layer to its charm. Beyond Loch Ard Gorge, the Great Ocean Road continues to deliver. Of course, the iconic Twelve Apostles rock formations are a must-see, especially at sunrise or sunset when the light paints them in incredible hues. I also loved visiting the natural rock arch formation at Port Campbell. Each viewpoint offers a unique glimpse into this incredible part of Victoria. And keep an eye out for Australian wildlife! I was lucky enough to spot koalas lazily munching on eucalyptus leaves, and even had a friendly white cockatoo perch near me for a photo op amidst the green trees – an unforgettable encounter! To make the most of your trip, I'd recommend dedicating at least a full day, if not two, to the Great Ocean Road. Drive carefully, as there are plenty of winding roads, and pull over at designated lookouts to truly appreciate the stunning high-angle views of the Australian coastline. Don't rush it; every bend reveals another spectacular vista. This part of Australia, from its dramatic cliffs to its serene beaches, is an absolute treasure and a definite highlight of international travel.
