✨🫶Cooking Therapy🫶✨

A big breakfast to start the day brings me joy because its the first delicious thing I get to eat when I wake up. Specifically the weekends are when I can make a big breakfast but that just makes it even more special. Starting your day right can guide the rest of your day to be great as well. Next some good steak tacos can make any sad day happy. I love loading them up with toppings too especially if we have sour cream. That first bite when you realize you make tacos just as good as your favorite taco truck, ugh it just makes me hungry thinking about it. Next is my favorite meal, a tasty Italian beef sandwich. They can come dry or wet and sloppy. I love mine extra wet with lots of hot peppers. This is my ultimate comfort meal too. Lastly shaved Brussels sprouts allows me to use my favorite kitchen utensil. Ill have all these sprouts to chop and my slicer and ill just zone out. The Continuous chopping allows my brain to relax and turn off for just a little bit. But not too much! because the chopper is very sharp.

It’s not just about the food but the entire process—the sizzling of eggs and bacon, the aroma of pancakes and house fries—that creates an inviting morning ritual. This sets a positive tone for the day, making everything feel a little brighter. When life feels overwhelming, I turn to steak tacos. They’re easy to make but loaded with flavors that instantly lift my spirits. Adding sour cream, fresh cilantro, cheese, and a generous splash of hot sauce recreates the experience of enjoying my favorite taco truck. It’s amazing how the combination of these ingredients creates not only a satisfying meal but also a comforting memory. Another favorite that brings me peace is the Italian beef sandwich. Whether dry or wet, I prefer mine drenched with hot peppers and juices—it’s the ultimate comfort food. Preparing this sandwich requires some attention, chopping and layering the flavors, which helps me focus and temporarily switch off from daily stress. Lastly, I find a special meditative joy in shaving Brussels sprouts. Using my sharp slicer, I chop through the greens while zoning out in a mindful state. This repetitive motion helps clear my mind and provides a moment of calm amidst a busy day. It’s a reminder that cooking isn’t just about nourishment but also about self-care and mental wellness. Each of these meals contributes uniquely to my sense of well-being. The act of cooking, sensory engagement with food, and savoring these dishes make me appreciate life's simple pleasures.
