How much I’ve made in myhigh yield savings account

💵✨ HOW MUCH I’VE MADE IN MY HYSA ✨💵

Okay, let’s talk high yield savings accounts (HYSA) because honestly, opening one has been one of the best financial moves I’ve made at 19. I opened my HYSA with Discover back in April with a starting balance of $4,000. Since then, I’ve grown it to $9,000 (between saving and transferring money in), and here’s how much I’ve earned in interest alone 👇

📈 April: $7.78

📈 May: $14.38

📈 June: $17.45

📈 July: $18.52

📈 August: $24.20

That’s $82.33 just from letting my money sit there. Like… free money. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but compare that to a regular savings account that would’ve given me literally a couple of cents. This is why I’m so big on sharing money transparency — because most of us aren’t taught these things, and little changes can actually add up over time.

If you’re in college or just starting your financial journey, a HYSA is such an easy first step toward building wealth. It rewards patience, and it makes saving a little more fun when you can see your money grow.

💬 Question: Do you already have a HYSA, or is it on your to-do list? #lemon8partner #biweeklybudget

The image illustrates the power of compounding interest, showing that $5,000 in a normal savings account earns $0.50 annually, while in a HYSA, it earns $200-$250 annually.
Why You NEED a High Yield Savings Account 💸
If your money is just sitting in a regular savings account earning pennies… it’s basically losing value 💀. A High Yield Savings Account (HYSA) is a savings account that actually PAYS you. Instead of 0.01% interest at a traditional bank, many online banks are offering 4–5% interest right now.
