Same model of running shoes, but why is Feeling not the same? Out QC or brand secretly "adjust the formula" according to the runner's voice?
Have you ever tried on a shopped shoe and got hooked? When you order the same online model, the exact same color to deliver at home, or buy the second pair after the first pair is broken. But when you wear it, "Oh! Why is it not the same?" This is not a story, but there is a reason behind it.
1. "Lot Manufacturing." Difficult to control differences.
Despite being the same model, it may produce a different lot or a different factory (e.g. Vietnam vs China).
- Foam chemical formula: Foam Injection has temperature and humidity factors involved. Even using the original formula, different environments can cause slight dislocation of foam density.
- Shore Durometer: The brand has a foam hardness standard, but most often accept an error of about + / - 2-3 units. Sensitive Feet can often experience this difference.
2. "Running Change" secretly adjusts the formula according to Feedback (doesn't tell us!)
This is what happens most often in today's shoe industry. Brands often secretly fix small issues without announcing a model change.
- Fix the blind spot: If the first lot is complained of "slippery rubber floor" or "foam crumbling until it hurts the soles of the feet," the next lot, the brand may adjust the foam density to the firm, or change the glue used to reattach the floor.
- Reduce cost / increase durability: Feedback sometimes says that the fabric face is easy to lack. The later lot may add a support structure, making the wear look "tighter" or "stiffer" than the first pair ever put on.
3. "Temperature" and "Break-in" factors
- Newness: The old shoes are used to. The foam is "massaged" until it is broken-in. The new pair of foam is still high tension. It has to run for 30-50 km to start as soft as the same pair.
- Weather: Some types of foam will clearly harden in cold weather and soften in hot weather. If we unpack the air conditioner and try it immediately, the filling will definitely be different from the old pair that just ran in the sun.
What kind of "Defect" should be claimed?
If the difference is not only soft, but structural, prepare to return.
1. Too different weight: Try digital scales. If the left and the right weight are more than 10-15 grams, it is unusual.
2. Height is not equal: Put on a flat floor and look at the height of the heel. If the inclination or height is low, it is not clear. This is dangerous to the knee.
3. Unusual noise: Walking with a loud sound, or a sound like glue from the inside from the first day. This is a problem with the assembly process.
Listen to consumer voices or just don't control standards?
Mostly "Feedback Based Improvements," mixed with "Production Restrictions," big brands are often passive if tens of thousands of customers complain about the same thing. He will secretly adjust the specs on the latter lot immediately to reduce the claim rate and increase satisfaction.
But really, if friends really like that model and don't want to win a new lot, buying the same color "stock" is the most sure solution, believe me!
ถ้าเจอ “รองเท้าวิ่งรุ่นเดียวกัน แต่ฟีลลิ่งไม่เหมือนกัน” แล้วลังเลว่าคิดไปเองหรือเปล่า เรามีวิธีเช็กแบบเป็นขั้นตอนที่ลองใช้เองแล้วช่วยแยกได้ค่อนข้างชัด ว่าเป็นเรื่องปกติของรองเท้าวิ่ง (ล็อตผลิต/ปรับสูตร/อุณหภูมิ/การ break-in) หรือเริ่มเข้าข่ายหลุด QC จริงๆ 1) เช็กให้ชัวร์ว่า “รุ่นเดียวกันจริง” บางทีชื่อรุ่นเหมือนเดิม แต่เป็นคนละเวอร์ชันย่อย เช่น Wide/Standard, รุ่นผู้ชาย-ผู้หญิง (โครงสร้างและความกว้างต่าง), หรือเป็นสีพิเศษที่ใช้วัสดุหน้าผ้า/ยางคนละเกรดก็มี ก่อนสรุปว่าแบรนด์หลุด QC ลองดูรหัสบนกล่อง/แท็กด้านใน (เช่น code สี/รหัสสินค้า) ให้ตรงกัน และดูปีผลิตคร่าวๆ เผื่อเป็นล็อตคนละช่วง 2) ทดสอบ “ฟีลลิ่ง” แบบควบคุมตัวแปร หลายคนลองในห้องแอร์แล้วตัดสินเลย ซึ่งโฟมบางชนิดแข็งขึ้นมากในอากาศเย็น แนะนำให้ทำ 2 แบบ - ใส่เดินในบ้าน 10 นาที แล้วออกไปเดิน/จ๊อกเบาๆ กลางแจ้งอีก 10 นาที - ลองในช่วงเวลาใกล้กันกับคู่เดิม (ถ้ามี) เพื่อไม่ให้สภาพอากาศต่างกันเกินไป ถ้าความรู้สึกต่างกันแค่ “นุ่ม-เฟิร์ม” เล็กน้อย มักเป็นเรื่องอุณหภูมิ + ความใหม่ของโฟม (break-in) มากกว่า 3) ให้โอกาส break-in แบบปลอดภัย ประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว รองเท้าวิ่งหลายคู่ต้องมีระยะ “เข้าที่” จริง โดยเฉพาะคู่ที่โฟมแน่นหรือหน้าผ้ารัดกระชับ แนะนำค่อยๆ เพิ่มระยะ - 3–5 กม. แรก: วิ่งช้า/เดินสลับ เน้นฟังร่างกาย - 20–50 กม.: ฟีลมักเริ่มนิ่งขึ้น (นุ่มขึ้นหรือยวบลงนิดตามธรรมชาติ) แต่ถ้าใส่ครั้งแรกแล้วเจ็บจุดเดิมชัดๆ เช่น กดฝ่าเท้า/เสียดสีเอ็นร้อยหวาย แบบผิดปกติ อันนี้อย่าฝืน 4) เช็ก “สัญญาณหลุด QC” แบบจับต้องได้ นอกจากน้ำหนักต่างกันมาก/ความสูงส้นไม่เท่ากัน/มีเสียงกาวหลุด ลองเพิ่มอีก 4 จุดที่ผมมักดูเวลาเช็กคู่ใหม่ - พื้นยางซ้าย-ขวา “ลายไม่เท่ากัน” หรือยางบางข้างหนากว่าชัด - โฟมยุบเป็นแอ่งตั้งแต่ยังไม่วิ่ง (กดนิ้วแล้วเด้งไม่เท่ากัน) - ตะเข็บ/กาวบริเวณ toe box และส้น มีรอยแยกหรือบวม - วางบนพื้นเรียบแล้วโยก: ถ้าโยกซ้ายขวาหรือเอียงผิดธรรมชาติ อันนี้เสี่ยงบาดเจ็บ 5) ถ้าจะเคลม/เปลี่ยน ทำยังไงให้คุยง่ายขึ้น ถ่ายรูป/วิดีโอตั้งแต่แกะกล่อง (สภาพพื้น, รอยกาว, ระดับส้น) แล้วชั่งน้ำหนักแยกซ้าย-ขวาเก็บไว้ ถ้าเดินแล้วมีเสียง “กึกๆ” หรือรู้สึกเอียง แนะนำถ่ายคลิปตอนกดพื้นหรือเดินให้เห็นอาการ จะช่วยให้ร้าน/แบรนด์ตัดสินใจเร็วขึ้น สุดท้าย ถ้าคุณเป็นสาย “Sensitive Feet” จริงๆ ทางออกที่ชัวร์คือเวลาเจอรองเท้าวิ่งที่เข้ามือมากๆ ให้จำล็อต/รหัสบนกล่องไว้ หรือถ้าเจอช่วงที่ฟีลดีมากก็ซื้อสำรองไว้ 1 คู่ ลดความเสี่ยงเจอล็อตถัดไปที่แบรนด์แอบปรับสูตรตามเสียงนักวิ่งแบบไม่ประกาศครับ
