GUANGZHOU WHAT TO EAT (Recommended dishes only)
In a continuation from my previous WHERE TO GO IN GUANGZHOU places , would like to recommend everyone some great dishes tried during my trip :) This was a compilation of best finds after trying out multiple places , with recommendations from my local GZ friends ✨
1. 大鸽饭 - PIGEON
✅ When ordering, make sure you try their pigeon. They are famous for this dish and have many many outlets all over
✅ service is top notch and similar to Haidilao
〽️portions were unfortunately slightly on the smaller side
2. 点都德 - DIMSUM
✅ portions are HUGE
✅ value for money - for the amount we ordered, this was to feed 7 pax and total bill came up to CNY670 - about SGD70.
3. BLACK SESAME PASTE - highly recommend 💯
✅ this was so good! Not just this store, but any particular store that sells black sesame paste- you have to try!
Local prices cost about CNY8/bowl.
4. 陶陶居 - DIM SUM or Chinese dinner cuisine
〽️ so we visited during dinner time, and tried their famous sweet and sour pork dipped in ice. This was good, as the exterior was crispy and sweet.
✅ If you only have time to choose a dimsum place - between 陶陶居 and 点都德 (#2 ), I would highly recommend the latter 😋😋
5. 大佛寺
✅ Had shared about this Vegetarian buffet in my other post, do refer to that!
💯 HIGHLY RECOMMEND to bring your family member or friend who’s vegetarian- please go as you won’t regret! Order their mushroom soup and vegetable soup based dishes- you will taste the most sumptuous truffle and mushroom soup bases, MSG-free, dishes ever 🥹
6. 双皮奶
✅ this is a custardy, smooth and silky dessert bowl which GZ is highly famous for. Worth a try if you enjoy sweet desserts, or egg tart-like textures
