I went to see Mindy Kaling
I just want to say seeing Mindy Kaling in real life. She is so beautiful. She is actually very hilarious, which is makes sense that I love her. She has three shows. Well, four shows. Do not pull out the nine, but I never watched “The Office”, but I’ve seen snippets and she seems so funny in it. But since I never watched the office, I did watch “The Mindy Project” because I had seen a commercial of Mindy and when I say it was hilarious, you can watch it on Netflix still if they did not take it off. But her show, “The Mindy Project” is hilarious and I don’t like how in the show, they try to make it seem like she’s some fat girl and because she’s “fat” that she’s less attractive because I never thought she was unattractive always thought she was pretty.
Mindy was doing her public speaking event, it was a partnership with Canva, I will say that she has been very respectful, and she shined a lot of light on what people of color/her being a dark skinned Indian woman go through the Hollywood industry. Especially as a woman. I just thought it was inspiring and she was explaining how and the writing writers’ room would have one person of color and that’s it, but also she explains how Hollywood has changed so much and become more diverse and it seems like they’re going down on the right path.
But if you don’t know who Mindy is, I’ll shed some light on a few things you may have been watching and did not know she is the creator, the producer, or the writer of. One of her very popular shows on Netflix is “Never Have I Ever”. That is a really great show with Devi always effing up. The next show she has is on HBO, that would be “The Sex Lives Of College Girls.” That show is really funny. I also, can relate to it more because it is more so around my age range. And of course, she had her own show about her in a way and that one was called “The Mindy Project”. She had another show she was talking about which I decided that I need to see. She said it only had like a one season one, but that it is still on Hulu, I can’t recall what the show is called. But I did also shoot this video of her speaking so when I’m done editing the video you can actually find it on my LA vlog on YouTube. It will be dropping next week.
