Reading this book changed something in me. The story follows Eddie and unpacks his life through the five people he meets in heaven. Each person reveals something about his life that he didn’t fully understand when he was alive. It made me reflect on how even the smallest actions can have a much bigger effect than we realise.
Just be mindful that the story does carry some emotional weight especially since it talks about regret, forgiveness and purpose. This book will definitely make you pause and think yet comfort you at the same time. I highly recommend!!! 🫶🏽
there’s also a movie based on this book, you can check that out too!! 🤩
Some of my favourite quotes:
• “One withers, another grows. Birth and death are part of a whole.”
• “Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you’re not really losing it. You’re just passing it on to someone else.”
• “The world is full of stories, but the stories are all one.”

In my own experience, reflecting on the small, seemingly insignificant moments and decisions made me realize how they ripple outwards and affect others in ways I hadn't imagined before. The book's concept, as echoed in the quote "THAT IS WHAT HEAVEN IS FOR. FOR UNDERSTANDING YOUR LIFE ON EARTH," really resonated with me.
Each of the five people Eddie meets in heaven serves as a guide, revealing lessons about forgiveness, sacrifice, and the unseen consequences of our actions. For example, understanding that sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, it’s not truly lost, but rather passed on, helped shift my perspective on difficult choices I’ve faced.
The emotional depth of the story also encourages readers to confront their own regrets and find peace through understanding and acceptance. Themes like birth and death being part of a continuous whole reminded me that every ending is also a beginning.
If you're looking for a narrative that combines heartfelt wisdom with a story that makes you pause and reflect on your purpose and relationships, this book is a powerful choice. Additionally, watching the movie adaptation can complement the reading experience, bringing the characters and their lessons to life visually.
