in five years…..

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

In Five Years by Rebecca Serle was an intriguing read. It was more about friendship, timing, and the kind of love that doesn’t always look the way you’d expect or imagine.

It’s a simple and quick read but there are moments that stay with you afterwards and a good book to help you get out of a reading slump fr!!

Some of my favourite quotes:

• “I think sacrifice is in direct opposition to manifestation. If you want your dreams you should look for abundance, not scarcity.”

• “I am constantly trying to learn the rules, only to realise that the people who win don’t seem to follow any.”

• “The one who made her feel like the entire universe was conspiring for her love, and hers alone.”

... Read moreReading In Five Years left a lasting impression on me due to its unique take on love and friendship that defies traditional expectations. The novel's simple narrative rhythm makes it easy to finish in one sitting, yet the emotional resonance lingers long after. One of the standout aspects for me was how the story challenges the conventional idea of romantic love as the sole form of fulfillment. Instead, it highlights that love can be multifaceted—sometimes it’s friendship or timing that shapes our lives in profound ways. This theme is deeply reflected in quotes like "I think sacrifice is in direct opposition to manifestation. If you want your dreams you should look for abundance, not scarcity." This mindset encourages readers to embrace abundance in life and relationships rather than settling for less. Moreover, the motif of timing in relationships strikes a realistic chord. The protagonist's journey illustrates that not all connections fit neatly into our plans or expectations, but the unpredictability often brings richness and growth. This reminds me how life’s surprises, much like the universe conspiring for love, can open doors to experiences beyond what we imagine possible. For anyone stuck in a reading slump, I found In Five Years to be a refreshing choice. Its engaging yet accessible writing style makes it ideal for a quick literary escape that still offers thoughtful reflections on love and life’s unexpected turns. The book’s status as a New York Times bestseller underlines its widespread appeal, and the memorable, moving storytelling ensures it’s a rare gem that stays with you. If you own a Kindle Paperwhite or enjoy aesthetically pleasing e-readers, this novel is a perfect addition to your collection. Overall, In Five Years is a touching exploration of not just romantic destiny, but the many ways love shapes our journey—even when it doesn’t look the way we expect.
