After experiencing Day 2 of Pokémon GO Fest 2026 in Chicago, I truly feel like I've unlocked a new level of Pokémon GO! First and foremost, come prepared! You'll be doing a lot of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must. Seriously, my feet are tired but happy! A portable charger (or two!) is non-negotiable; your phone battery will drain quickly with all the catching and interacting. Also, stay hydrated – especially with all the excitement and walking, you'll be thankful for that water bottle. I saw many trainers enjoying the various food trucks in Grant Park, but having some snacks on hand is always a good idea. Another thing I learned is to have a plan, but also be flexible. While I'm already catching so many different Pokémon, it helps to know which ones you're prioritizing. Are you hunting for specific shinies? Or are you focused on completing special research tasks? There are so many unique encounters available, from regional Pokémon to special raids, that it can feel overwhelming. Don't be surprised if you get sidetracked by an exciting spawn! I also recommend taking breaks. Find a nice spot, maybe near one of the iconic Chicago landmarks visible from Grant Park, and just soak in the atmosphere.
