As a Guizhou native who grew up on sour soup fish, tasting this dish here made me at home. The pot comes with around 400g of filleted fish—not a huge portion—but the sour soup is so close to the Guizhou flavor: tangy, appetizing, and instantly wakes up your palate.

What makes it special, though, isn’t just the taste. The fun twist is eating the crispy rice soaked in the fish soup. These little fried rice puffs soften in the broth while staying crunchy—an interesting texture! Just a word of caution: don’t overindulge, as crispy rice can be a bit heavy on digestion.

🍤 Oolong Tea Shrimp Balls 🌟🌟🌟

Topped with a generous layer of chili and tea leaves, the shrimp balls are hidden underneath—like a treasure hunt on your plate. Despite the chili topping, it’s not spicy at all. Instead, the overall flavor leans sweet—perfect for those with a sweet tooth, but maybe not the best for friends who are watching calories.

The tea leaves, pan-fried to a crisp, are edible and aromatic—chewing oolong tea in this way is certainly a novel experience.

🥬 Stir-fried Choy Sum 🌟🌟🌟

Simple, fresh, and clean. Light in flavor, not greasy at all. It balances the sourness of the fish and the sweetness of the shrimp, making the whole meal more harmonious and less heavy.

🍐 Snow Pear with Tremella

As part of their check-in promotion, they served snow pear with tremella. The pear was stewed until soft, though the pear aroma could have been stronger. If you’re a high-level reviewer on certain platforms, the check-in reward even includes a cat mask—imagine walking in the Great Tang All Day City at night wearing that!

📝🎶🍽️ Overall, Tang Cat Courtyard is the definition of a “viral” restaurant: great vibes, with live pipa performances adding to the dining experience—a feast for both eyes and palate.
