Cadi Practice 🫶
Compilation of all the Cadillac Practices I did this year. #pilates #pilatesprincess #pilatesworkout
Hey everyone! So, my original post was a quick peek at my Cadillac Pilates journey this year, but I wanted to dive a bit deeper into why I love these specific exercises and how they've transformed my practice. The Cadillac, or Trapeze Table, can look a bit intimidating with all its springs and bars, but it's truly a powerhouse for building strength, flexibility, and body awareness. For anyone just starting out or curious about Cadillac exercises, let me share some of my go-to moves and what I've learned. One of my absolute favorites is the Roll Down with the Push Through Bar. This exercise is incredible for spinal articulation and core control. I remember when I first started, my roll-down was so segmented, but with consistent practice, focusing on each vertebra, it’s become much smoother. It really teaches you how to engage your deep core muscles as you resist the spring. It feels like a moving meditation for your spine! Then there are the Leg Springs. Oh my goodness, the burn! Whether I'm doing circles, frogs, or walking patterns, these exercises target my inner and outer thighs, glutes, and lower abs in a way no other apparatus does. I've found them amazing for improving hip mobility and strengthening my pelvic floor. My tip for these: really focus on keeping your pelvis stable and letting your legs do the work from the hip joint. It’s not about how big you can move, but how controlled. Another gem is the Tower Exercise. This one is fantastic for opening up the chest and strengthening the back extensors. I often feel so much tension in my upper back, and the Tower helps me find length and release. It’s also a great way to challenge your core stability while articulating your spine in extension. Don't forget to keep your shoulders relaxed and down! And let's not forget about the Push Through Bar exercises from sitting or standing. These are incredible for overall body integration. I love how they challenge my balance and coordination while simultaneously building upper body strength and core stability. You can do so many variations, like pushing down, pushing up, or even doing seated side bends. Each one offers a unique challenge and really makes you feel every muscle working together. My biggest takeaway from a year of consistent Cadillac practice? It's all about listening to your body and being patient with your progress. Some days I feel super strong, other days I need to scale back. The beauty of the Cadillac is its versatility; you can always find a modification that works for you. Don't be afraid to experiment with spring tension – a lighter spring can sometimes be harder because it requires more control! I hope this deeper dive into some of my favorite Pilates Cadillac exercises encourages you to give them a try or reignites your passion if you're already a fan. It’s truly an empowering way to move and connect with your body. Happy practicing!
