january reading wrap up!

i started bones in nov, and butcher & blackbird in dec, but i finished them in january, so i figured they counted, lol.

•bones(the dark kingdom, 5) by shantel tessier

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

- bones follows the story of dillon reed, aka bones and mia, sister of the head of the italian-american mafia, luca bianchi. an enemies to lovers story, this book was good!

•butcher & blackbird(the ruinous love trilogy, 1)by brynne weaver

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

-butcher & blackbird tell the story of two serial killers, sloan and rowan. a hilarious friends to lovers story, this book will have you sad at times, laughing at other times and… probably not looking at cookies and cream ice cream the same again!

•corrupt(the devil’s night series, 1)by penelope douglas

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

-corrupt shares the story of michael and erika, aka rika. one devil’s night in high school, rika joins michael and his friends, will grayson, kai mori and damon torrence for a night of fun that turns for the worse. three years after the events of that devil’s night, michael and his friends are up to no good again, only this time… they try and scare rika. this book is steamy, and will have you wanting to punch a few characters square in their jaws.

if you’ve read any of these, which one(s) did you like best? personally, i loved bones. i don’t see many people talk about it or the books before it. 10/10 would recommend.

2025/2/3 Edited to

... Read moreIn January, I wrapped up some captivating reads worth discussing. 'Bones' by Shantel Tessier delivers an intriguing enemies-to-lovers plot that keeps you hooked with its Mafia backdrop. If you enjoy thrilling romance, this 5-star read is a must. Meanwhile, 'Butcher & Blackbird' by Brynne Weaver brings laughter amid darkness, following two serial killers in a bizarrely humorous friends-to-lovers tale. And don't miss 'Corrupt' by Penelope Douglas, where steamy challenges unfold in a gripping narrative of high school drama and sinister games. These titles have rich storytelling and character depth, perfect for those who relish complex plots. Have you read any of these? Share your favorites!
