Officially back from Search and Rescue school and my internal clock is whack, so I’m using my extra time to adult and clean up my space (especially since the sun is riding around 0500 here now). ☀️ Love you guys and thanks for following me on my journey :) Happy #Caturday!
Returning from an intense Search and Rescue school can really throw off your internal clock, especially when you find yourself in a location like Juneau, Alaska, where the sun rises as early as 5:00 AM. Personally, I've found that establishing a new routine gradually helps me regain balance. For example, setting small, daily goals such as tidying my living space or dedicating time to creative pursuits allows me to use my 'extra time' productively and maintain mental clarity. One of the unexpected bonuses of living in Alaska is experiencing the unique cycle of sunlight. In the summer months, the early sunrise can disrupt sleep but also brings a refreshing energy that I try to channel into my music and songwriting. Creating music inspired by the natural beauty around me has become a meaningful way to navigate the time adjustment. Additionally, sharing moments like #Caturday on social platforms fosters a sense of community and lightheartedness amidst the busy lifestyle post-training. Engaging with followers and fellow artists offers support and motivation while embracing both my professional and personal identities. If you're adjusting to a new time zone or returning from an intensive experience, my advice is to lean into your environment's rhythms, find joy in small tasks, and connect with your passions. Whether it's cleaning your space, composing songs, or enjoying local customs, these actions help ground you. Ultimately, patience and self-care are key as your body and mind adapt to change.
