How to Edit Concert Photos 🎸

Saw Tate McRae in concert and oh my gosh my camera roll is FULL of content. Our photos turned out pretty hazey, so here are some edits to bring them back to life. Also while giving a cool edgy vibe.

Some tips:

-For that blur effect, have your photographer shake the camera while using flash. You can stay still

-Lower exposure tremendously when editing, and adjust from there

-Dehaze!! And lower your clarity for a softer look

Who have you seen in concert recently?! 🎸📸

One creative way to add an artistic touch to your concert photos is by intentionally using motion blur. As mentioned, having your photographer shake the camera slightly while using flash can add dynamic blur effects that convey movement and excitement. When editing concert photos, adjusting exposure is critical. Lowering the exposure drastically helps reduce overexposed highlights from stage lights and brings out detail in darker areas. The dehaze tool is especially useful for cutting through the smoky or foggy atmosphere often present at concerts, giving images more clarity without harshness. Reducing clarity slightly softens harsh edges, creating a moodier look that complements the concert vibe. Color adjustments also play a big role: decreasing saturation can tone down overly bright colors from stage lighting, while tweaking contrast, whites, and blacks can add depth and dimension to your photos. For instance, increasing contrast and whites can make performers pop against darker backgrounds, while lowering blacks avoids excessive shadows. It's also worth experimenting with apps or software that allow fine control over these adjustments. Many photographers use Lightroom or mobile apps that offer sliders for exposure, clarity, dehaze, and saturation, enabling precise edits that match the mood you want to convey. Finally, engaging with concert photography communities online can provide inspiration and tips tailored to specific genres or venues. Sharing your edits and learning from others helps improve your workflow and opens creative possibilities for future concerts. Whether you're capturing the electric energy of a rock show or the intimate ambiance of acoustic sets, mastering these editing techniques will help your concert photos stand out with authenticity and style.
