Knowing your worth isn’t arrogance. It’s ancestry.
Black History Month reminds me I come from people who were told they were nothing and still built everything. So no, I’m not shrinking. I’m not begging. I’m not overexplaining my value to people committed to misunderstanding it.
I know my worth because it was paid for in resilience, prayer, sacrifice, and a whole lot of surviving what should’ve broken us.
If you can’t see my value, that’s not a loss on my end. That’s a vision problem on yours.
I honor Black history by walking like I belong in every room I enter. Because I do!
