I got HOOKED on Anki

This is the ONIGIRI Beta. You’d have to download it as part of an add-on!

Now it may be a little too late or a little too early to start this program but safe to say I’ll be saving my notes here and play whenever I can. (Pretty much my notes for Dietetics)

I got the remote also (the 8bitdo one), and I was seeing so many options to use the controller for. Either way, this should be a fun profile for myself and my nephews since they can also use this.

I wonder if teachers also use this one for their students. This may work, along with quizzlet and other study apps!

3/1 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! So, if you're like me, constantly looking for ways to make studying more efficient and, dare I say, *fun*, then you've probably heard of Anki. But have you dipped your toes into the Anki Onigiri Beta yet? Let me tell you, it's been a game-changer for my Dietetics notes, and I just had to share my experience! First off, what even is the Onigiri Beta? It's essentially an add-on that revamps the Anki interface, giving it a fresh, more intuitive feel. For someone like me who spends hours reviewing complex topics like Nutrigenomics, a better UI makes a huge difference. I downloaded it as an add-on (super easy to find and install from the Anki add-on browser!) and immediately noticed how much cleaner everything looked. My studies often involve a massive amount of information. With Onigiri Beta, I feel like my review sessions are more streamlined. I've been creating flashcards for my 'Nutrigenomics' deck, and the new layout just makes adding and reviewing cards feel less like a chore. For instance, I recently checked my 'Today's Stats' and saw I had '2 cards studied' in '0.2 min time' with a '5.0 s/card pace'. While my '0% retention' for those specific new cards might look scary at first glance, it just tells me I'm in the early stages of learning them – totally normal! It’s a great way to monitor your progress and see where you need to focus more. And can we talk about the 8bitdo remote? Seriously, if you're using Anki, you need one. Integrating it with Onigiri Beta has transformed my review sessions. Instead of constantly reaching for my keyboard or mouse, I can just kick back, click through my cards with the remote, and focus entirely on recalling the information. It makes the whole process feel much more like a game, which, let's be honest, is a huge win when you're grinding through hundreds of flashcards. I've seen so many options for using the controller, customizing buttons for "again," "hard," "good," and "easy" answers. It speeds up my workflow immensely, especially when I'm reviewing a large batch of cards. This setup could honestly work wonders for anyone, whether you're a student like me or even a teacher looking for engaging study tools for your students, perhaps alongside Quizlet. It's not just about memorization; it's about active recall and making that process as seamless as possible. So, if you're on the fence about trying the Anki Onigiri Beta, I highly recommend diving in. It's breathed new life into my study routine, making complex subjects like Dietetics and Nutrigenomics much more manageable and enjoyable to conquer. It's definitely helped me stay more consistent with my reviews, turning a potentially tedious task into something I actually look forward to. Let me know if you decide to try it out!
