... Read moreIf you're just starting out in investing, choosing the right ETFs can be overwhelming. I've found that ETFs like XEQT, VFV, and CDZ provide a solid foundation with diverse holdings and manageable risks. XEQT, or iShares Core Equity ETF Portfolio, is especially popular because it bundles four other ETFs together, giving you broad global diversification. This means you don’t have to pick individual stocks – it’s like getting a globally balanced stock portfolio in one fund. Many investors, including myself, appreciate its convenience and reach. VFV, the Vanguard S&P 500 Index ETF, focuses on the top 500 U.S. companies. It's a favorite in Canada and makes it easy to invest in some of the biggest and most stable U.S. stocks. Personally, this ETF feels like a safe way to tap into the U.S. market’s growth. CDZ, the iShares S&P/TSX Canadian Dividend Aristocrat Index ETF, attracts investors looking for steady income through dividends. This fund invests in Canadian companies that have consistently paid dividends for at least five years, which is reassuring for those who want regular payouts. I find that the monthly income from CDZ helps me build a reliable cash flow over time. Besides diversification and income, it’s important to consider fees associated with ETFs. Lower fees mean more of your money stays invested and grows over time. I recommend checking the fund’s expense ratio and understanding any other costs before investing. For beginners, it’s also helpful to watch educational videos or read more about these ETFs to fully understand their holdings and performance. I shared a YouTube video explaining these ETFs in more detail, which helped me feel confident about my choices. Overall, these ETFs fit well into a beginner’s portfolio because they simplify investing, spread risk, and offer a mix of growth and income. If you’re curious about starting your investment journey, considering these ETFs might be a great first step!
