Healing from a c section, how long does it take??

it’s a no brainer that healing from a c section can take longer than healing from a natural delivery. (talking from experience here!)

but most moms don’t realize how long it actually takes for your c section to heal.

in your first 2 weeks you’re going to feel all of the pain. you’ll be cleared around 6 weeks, yet your internal tissues are still trying to heal and go back together.

around 3-6 months you’ll start to feel like you again! but your scar tissue is still trying to remodel itself. and around this time, i felt like i was actually ready to work on my pelvic floor again.

6-12 months is when true healing takes place! but sometimes it can be extended. fully depending on the events that took place during your c section, or how you’re doing after of course. so definitely grace yourself and give yourself some time! ✨
