Being a beginner
I may be new at this again but I definitely am enjoying the learning process
Starting a new hobby like adult colouring can feel both exciting and intimidating at the same time. I remember when I first picked up my set of Ohuhu markers—I wasn't sure if I'd be able to create anything beautiful, but I was eager to learn and explore. The process of colouring allows me to slow down and focus on the moment, which has been a wonderful way to relieve stress and spark creativity. One thing I’ve learned is that it’s perfectly normal to be a beginner and to make mistakes along the way. Rather than aiming for perfection, I try to enjoy each stroke and see every attempt as practice. Using quality tools like Ohuhu markers has made a big difference in my experience; their vibrant colors and smooth application make colouring more satisfying. I also found that joining communities and exploring hashtags like #adultcolouring, #findingmejoy, and #ohuhumarkers helped me connect with others who share this passion. Seeing other beginners’ works and tips motivated me to keep improving and experiment with techniques such as blending and shading. If you’re just starting out, my advice is to be patient and kind with yourself. Embrace the learning process as a journey rather than a destination. Whether you’re colouring intricate designs or simple patterns, allow yourself to find joy in the creative flow. With time and practice, you’ll notice your skills and confidence grow, turning this beginner phase into a fulfilling artistic experience.
