I’ve been spreading awareness about hidradenitis suppurativa for majority of my life, I’m so happy to see my “Warriors” on TikTok doing the same thing. We are keeping our heads up and letting everyone know we will not suffer in silence!!#fyp#viral#hidradenitissuppurativa#hswarrior#spreadawareness
Dealing with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is truly a lifelong journey that affects many aspects of daily life. Having managed this condition for years, I’ve come to understand that stress, diet, and hormonal changes can all trigger flare-ups, creating a complex cycle that requires careful attention. One important lesson is that self-care extends beyond just treating the physical symptoms. Emotional support from family and community is invaluable. Connecting with others who face HS has helped me feel less isolated and more empowered to share my experiences and coping strategies. Recently, I underwent a biopsy as part of a clinical trial in Sacramento, hoping it will lead to better treatments for HS. Staying informed about new research and medical advances gives me hope that the future will bring improved options for symptom management. Using wound care products such as bandages helps promote healing and protects sensitive skin areas. Despite the physical challenges, I’ve learned to appreciate the small victories, like how my arm currently feels better than it has in a long time. Counting these blessings keeps me motivated. If you or someone you know is living with hidradenitis suppurativa, remember that you’re not alone. Sharing your story and raising awareness can make a difference in breaking the stigma and encouraging others to seek help. Keep your head up, be your own advocate, and embrace your warrior spirit.
