💭 The Culture Shock I Didn’t Expect- 🇵🇷
Moving to Puerto Rico with my family was one of the best decisions we’ve made—but I’d be lying if I said there weren’t surprises along the way. From the school system, to how people drive here, to just trying to grocery shop or shop anywhere 😅—there was a LOT to adjust to.
Here’s what caught me off guard the most (and what I’ve grown to love 💛). My daughter had to switch from private school to homeschool, and that was a huge change… but she’s now learning Spanish so fast! even faster than me lol
Would I do it all over again? YES. But I wish someone had told me this stuff first.

Then there’s the school system and language barrier. Our daughter's transition was a huge part of our experience. Initially, we explored local schools, but found the curriculum and teaching styles varied significantly from what we were used to. This led us to the decision to homeschool, which, while a challenge, has been incredibly rewarding. Watching her quickly pick up Spanish, much faster than me, has been amazing – truly a testament to immersion!
