9/11 Remembrance❤️🤍💙🙏🏼
110 flights. 24 years later honoring those effected by 9/11.
I added a 11 lbs weighted bag
but the truth? ….
That’s nothing compared to the 60+ pounds of gear the first responders carried that day.
It wasn’t easy. I was short of breath, my legs were tired, and by the halfway point I wanted to stop but I kept repeating in my mind
“Do it for the families”
“Do it for the men and women who went in without hesitation.”
“Do it for those on the planes who were scared”
“Do it for those who are still alive but effected daily by the trauma that this day brought them”
It all gave me perspective……
If 11 lbs and 110 flights had me struggling….I can’t even begin to imagine the weight physically and emotionally that those heroes carried 24 years ago.
When I was done, I sat on the stairs and prayed.
I prayed for those who didn’t make it home.
I prayed for the ones still battling life-changing injuries.
I prayed for families who still carry the loss every single day.
if you haven’t prayed for them yet today, I invite you to say this with me tonight:
This is my prayer :
——
Lord, we lift up the souls lost on September 11th, 2001. We pray for the first responders who gave their lives and for those still carrying the weight of that day. We pray for the families who continue to grieve, that they may feel Your comfort. May we never forget their courage, their sacrifice, and their love.
Amen.
——
Never forget.

#NeverForget911 #HonorTheFallen #StairClimbChallenge #September11 #FirstResponders
My stair climb challenge, tackling those 110 flights, was a deeply personal way for me to participate in 9/11 remembrance. But it also made me reflect on the many profound ways people across the country and around the world choose to honor this day, especially "24 years later." It's more than just a date; it's a pivotal moment of collective memory, ensuring we are always "Honoring those affected" and that we truly #NeverForget. You might wonder why we often hear about '110 flights' in connection with 9/11 remembrance challenges. This number isn't arbitrary; it represents the 110 floors of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers. For many, like myself, climbing these symbolic 'flights' is a physical representation of the arduous journey first responders made that day and the immense loss endured. It’s a way to feel, even a fraction, of the weight and the struggle, to truly put ourselves in a place of empathy and active homage. The "9/11 Remembrance" tradition of stair climbs has grown into a powerful movement, drawing participants from all walks of life, united in a shared purpose to honor and remember. Beyond stair climbs, there are so many poignant traditions that have emerged. Many participate in memorial walks, runs, or even bike rides, all dedicated to the fallen and the heroes of that day. Fire departments across the nation hold solemn ceremonies, often involving bell tolls and moments of silence, reflecting on their brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice. Community gatherings, school assemblies, and church services also play a crucial role in keeping the memory alive, especially for younger generations who weren't alive to witness the events of September 11th. These events foster a sense of unity and shared purpose, reminding us of the strength found in coming together. Another powerful way people remember is through acts of service. Volunteering in their communities, donating blood, or supporting charitable organizations that aid first responders or victims' families – these are all active forms of "9/11 Remembrance" that translate grief into meaningful action. It's about embodying the spirit of unity and resilience that emerged from the tragedy, showing that even amidst immense loss, humanity can rise with compassion and strength. For me, the physical challenge of those 110 flights was a small, personal sacrifice compared to the true heroes. It was a moment to pause, to push past my limits, and to truly try to grasp the depth of their courage. It reminds us that while time passes, the lessons and the sacrifices of 9/11 remain ever-present in our collective consciousness. It's a call to reflect on how we can continue to uphold the values of bravery, compassion, and unity in our daily lives. Whether it’s a quiet moment of silent reflection, a heartfelt prayer, or actively participating in a community event, finding your own way to honor and remember is what truly matters. Let’s keep their stories alive, so that the profound sacrifices made on that fateful day are never forgotten, and the spirit of resilience continues to inspire us all. The image of "9/11 Remembrance" and "110 flights" will forever symbolize a moment of immense loss, but also of incredible human spirit, courage, and community.
