Some passions quietly wait for us, even after 22 years. 🌷
When I was retrenched from my long-term job in the legal industry 22 years ago, I spent time searching for a new direction.
One of the things I secretly wanted to pursue was floral arrangement. I imagined learning the art, working with beautiful blooms, and perhaps one day becoming a florist.
But circumstances were different then. Financial constraints and a lack of encouragement meant that dream remained just a thought.
Sometimes I wonder about the paths we never took.
If I had pursued and learned floral arrangement back then, what would it have become?
Reflecting on my journey, I realize that sometimes life puts our passions on hold, not forever but until the right moment arrives. Floral arrangement is more than just combining flowers; it's about creativity, patience, and connection with nature. I remember glimpses of mini garden corners I admired growing up, which planted the seed for my fascination with blooms. In recent years, I found that re-engaging with floral arts offered a refreshing escape from daily stresses. Working with flowers allowed me to express emotions that words sometimes fail to capture. Even simple arrangements brought a sense of calm and accomplishment. This experience taught me that it’s never too late to nurture a forgotten interest, and doing so can enrich one’s life in unexpected ways. Moreover, the art of floral design is accessible and can fit into any lifestyle or budget. Starting small at home with a mini garden or seasonal flowers available at local markets opens a world of possibilities. With abundant online tutorials and community classes, many have the means to explore this fulfilling hobby. Looking back, I sometimes wonder how different my life might have been if financial challenges hadn’t delayed my pursuit. Yet, I embrace the present moment, grateful for the opportunity to finally chase a quiet passion patiently waiting for me. If you have a dream tucked away, consider giving it room to bloom — sometimes, passion needs time, and that’s perfectly okay.
