How to play to break the brain 😖

🧠 How to play EF?

There are many forms... but it's definitely not a screen player. 📱

Because of "EF," or frontal brain skills that help children focus, control themselves, think, plan, and be flexible.

Not by "getting information," but by "taking real action."

🎮, so why doesn't screen play help EF?

When a child is on screen, his forebrain is barely as active as when playing the real thing.

Because on-screen activities (such as games, apps, or videos) often "attract outside attention."

It's not "let the child control internal attention."

🔹 the Prefrontal Cortex, which acts "inhibitory-plotting-self-directing."

It will be used less because what the screen does is stimulate the Reward System with sound, color and instant response.

Children are used to "getting results quickly" - shortening concentration and more difficult to control their emotions.

🔹 when the brain is often rewarded quickly (e.g., scores, likes, sounds, effects).

The brain secretes high "dopamine," making the child want to stay with the screen longer.

And when the screen is off, the child is bored, frustrated, or "wants that excitement back."

The behavior became screen-mounted, impulsive and unbearable. 😖

🔹 The key is "the screen world requires no effort."

But EF grows from meeting small challenges and failures.

When those things are not available, the child lacks the opportunity to practice self-control and grit (endurance of difficulty).

🌿 On the other hand, "real play" is the classroom of the frontal brain.

💡 When the child clambers, he plans and controls the body.

💡 When building blocks, they practice step-thinking, problem-solving and flexibility.

💡 When playing roles, he learned to understand others and control emotions.

💡 when playing the game board, he practiced waiting, following the rules, and devising strategies.

This is a real "frontal brain exercise."

And every time a child plays by himself with an adult, not by order,

His brain creates new, stronger nerve fibers every day.

Because of the real "play."

Not on screen, but in a moment when a child has tried, thought, been wrong and laughed along with his loved ones. ❤️
