St. Patrick’s Day is traditionally marked by vibrant green attire and festive celebrations, but this year I decided to shake things up by rocking pink instead! It was a fun way to stand out while still honoring the spirit of the day. Wearing pink made me feel unique and playful, proving that fashion freedom can bring extra joy to any holiday. Unfortunately, I was feeling under the weather with a persistent cough, so I chose to stay home rather than risk spreading germs or making others uncomfortable during gatherings. It’s important to recognize when self-care must come first—even during fun occasions. Staying in gave me the chance to reflect on how we often expect ourselves to keep up with social events, but sometimes it’s OK to prioritize health and wellbeing. I also had a funny moment thinking about the concept of “haters” and how it would be ironic to cough in the face of someone I disliked—but ultimately, I decided that giving negativity that sort of attention isn’t worth it. Instead, I focused on staying positive and enjoying my own company. This year’s alternative approach to St. Patrick’s Day—fashion, humor, and self-care combined—was refreshing. It reminded me that celebrations don’t have to look the same every year; they can evolve to suit our moods and needs. By embracing change and a little bit of pink, I found new ways to enjoy tradition while staying true to myself.
