Changing an enclosed garden into one that is opened aired encourages not just butterflies to visit, but also the residents to take walks in the Tampines Changkat Butterfly Garden. We saw many different species of butterflies (!!!) so do head down and try to find all the butterflies we mentioned... you might find some we didn’t spot too!

... Read moreVisiting the Tampines Changkat Butterfly Garden offers more than just a visual treat; it's a unique chance to connect closely with nature. As you stroll through the open-air garden, you’ll notice how the transformation from an enclosed space to an inviting, open environment has encouraged a delightful variety of butterfly species to thrive here. This not only creates a vibrant habitat but also enriches the local community’s outdoor experiences. One of the most rewarding aspects of spending time here is witnessing the diversity of butterflies up close. From their delicate wing patterns to their graceful flight, each species has its own charm. Alongside butterflies, the garden’s serene atmosphere promotes relaxation and mindfulness, making it ideal for casual walks, photography, or simply unwinding after a busy day. The garden also fosters meaningful connections, not just between visitors and nature, but among people. It is a space that encourages sharing and community bonding around gardening and wildlife appreciation. This experience truly makes the world a 'butter'—better—place, aligning perfectly with the garden’s mission to blend ecological awareness with leisure. For first-time visitors or nature enthusiasts, I recommend visiting during daylight hours when butterflies are most active, and don’t forget to bring a camera or notebook to capture your favorite moments. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Tampines, the Changkat Butterfly Garden is a treasure worth exploring for a refreshing, uplifting escape into nature.

These 2 factors made us reject 10 HDB units
Okay so after visiting 11 different projects, we finally committed to an estate. Done, right? Wrong. Choosing the estate was only HALF the decision. We still had to pick THE unit. At our project, there were 14 available units. Out of those 14, we crossed off 10 almost immediately. Before w

We rejected every center bombshelter unit. Here's why
Your bombshelter is permanent. You cannot hack it, move it, or remove it. Ever. But where it sits? That controls whether you can even have an open-concept kitchen. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🏗️ Why this matters SCDF Civil Defence Shelter Act — the walls, floor, ceiling, and door cannot be touched.

After a dramatic entry to JB with a puncture tyre, we knew we needed to change it. Initially we wanted to change 1 tyre only but after much contemplation we decided to change all 4! the Michelin tyre was about $100. And in sgd the same model is about $160-$180? Overall a good steal :)

🥵 Ventilation matters so much more than we thought.
As first-time homeowners, we spent so much time choosing tiles, laminates that we barely thought about airflow. It is one of those things you only truly appreciate after living in the space.   We grew up with the windows and doors open almost all the time, so good ventilation was something we nev

I wanted a third place that sits between inside and outside. That’s how The Park was conceptualised. I arranged my living space like a landscape. Urban materials; gravel-like tiles, a water-like glass bench. A rug that reads like terrain. My plants softening the edges. It’s enclosed, b
