Emotional Habits I’m Unlearning

4/15 Edited to

... Read moreUnlearning emotional habits can be a transformative experience that opens up new paths to personal growth and well-being. From my own journey, I found that taking things personally when they weren’t about me often led to unnecessary stress and hurt feelings. Learning to separate my emotions from others’ actions helped me regain peace of mind. Another habit I gradually unlearned was feeling responsible for everyone else’s feelings. It’s a noble instinct, but it can come at the cost of your own emotional health. Setting boundaries and recognizing that each person manages their own emotions has been liberating. Overthinking conversations long after they’ve ended used to drain my energy. Now, by practicing mindfulness techniques and focusing on the present, I reduce anxiety and avoid creating scenarios that aren’t real. Trying to fix everything immediately is another pattern I’ve been working on. Sometimes, allowing space and time for things to unfold naturally leads to better outcomes. This approach encourages patience and self-compassion. Finally, holding on to things longer than necessary—whether material possessions, grudges, or outdated beliefs—can weigh heavily on emotional wellness. Embracing the idea that unlearning is part of growth helps foster resilience and a soft life mindset. Incorporating these changes isn’t instant, but the journey toward emotional healing feels rewarding. It’s about progress, not perfection, and nurturing a supportive inner dialogue. Sharing these insights in communities like #emotionalhealing and #lifecoachforwomen can also provide encouragement and collective wisdom. Unlearning emotional habits has been just as important as learning new ones for me—and it can be for you too.

Unhealthy things I am unlearning as a mom 🌸
Being a good mom is my top priority. 1. Punishing emotions. I will not get my daughter in trouble for yelling at me, crying, or anything else. If you were crying and somebody told you you have no reason to be, or that they’ll give you a reason to cry, how would you feel? Worse? 2. Shaming.
