Every Perreo y Power class is sooo special to me, and I truly hope it is for you too.
These fitness events are more than a just a workout with a good Spanish playlist.
I’ve spent my whole life craving a community that embraced me as I am…I grew up an Army brat. Went to hs in a predominantly white suburban neighborhood, worked in gyms and boutique studios that required a rinsed off version of me.
And so grateful that now as an independent coach, I get to curate a space for other women who craved that same community and acceptance I always have.
Perreo y Power is for everyBODY who as ever been made to feel “too much” and also, not enough.
Too loud.
Too energetic.
Too passionate.
Not fit enough.
Not strong enough.
This space is for you.
I love you.
Can’t wait to see you at the next PYP!

Perreo y Power (PYP) is not just your typical workout; it’s a vibrant community experience that blends dance, strength training, and self-love into one empowering event. Having attended several PYP sessions, what stands out is how it embraces everyone—regardless of fitness level or background—and helps you feel strong, confident, and connected. The classes beautifully combine energetic Perreo dance moves with effective strength training exercises led by skilled coaches like Regina from The Bold Body Club. This fusion keeps the workout fun and challenging, helping build endurance, muscle tone, and cardiovascular health all at once. What’s more, the music playlist features lively Spanish rhythms that motivate and energize participants throughout the session. Another aspect I appreciate is the welcoming atmosphere. Coming from a diverse fitness background myself, I’ve often encountered spaces that felt exclusive or made me self-conscious about who I am. PYP intentionally flips that script by creating a safe space where being “too much” or “not enough” is celebrated rather than judged. The community spirit is palpable—you’re encouraged to bring your authentic self without pressure to fit any stereotype. Additionally, the event’s supportive collaborators like Latina Lifters amplify the empowerment message, encouraging women to unapologetically take up space and be ‘FUERTE AF’ (strong as f***). The involvement of local sponsors such as Guadalupana Bakery and Network Inn NYC adds a neighborhood vibe to the event, making it more than just fitness but also a cultural and community gathering. For those in NYC or planning a trip, attending a Perreo y Power class is a chance to move your body, connect with like-minded people, and celebrate strength in all its forms. Whether you’re new to fitness, looking for a new challenge, or craving a supportive community, PYP offers a rare, joyful combination of all these elements. I highly recommend checking the bio link for registration details and upcoming event times—especially the July 25 Strength + Dance session in Midtown. Embrace your passion and energy—this space truly welcomes you as you are!
