📝 I have a confession:
Body dysmorphia is something I have struggled with my entire life. Not being born with the natural body features that land you in the “in” crowd slices at your perceptions of yourself. The triangle shape, no butt, and big stomach placed me at the center of jokes for many people. All of these unique experiences factored into a long journey of self acceptance and love. Although hard, I wouldn’t choose a different journey because every experience shaped me into who I am today (no pun intended 😂).
Now that I am comfortable living in my skin, I wanted to share my ins and outs of maintaining a positive self-image in 2024
🙌🏾 In:
1. Social media is one of the biggest self-image regulators. So, find influencers and platforms that represent you and your goals.
2. Dress your body in ways that are flattering and elevates your confidence.
3. Take breaks when you feel you’re becoming overwhelmed with all things happening around you
4. Creating a healthy sustainable lifestyle including-but not limited to-eating habits, self-maintenance, and doing things that bring me joy.
👋🏾Out:
1. Allowing social media and society to dictate what my version of beauty should be.
2. Forcing myself into trend diets that are not sustainable.
3. Following people who push negative narratives about the lifestyles of others.
4. Going to the gym with no direct plan.

Engage with a community that encourages sharing your experiences, allowing a space for both triumphs and struggles in the journey of self-love.
