(Or Jam)

- [] 5 cups blueberries

- [] Zest of 2 lemons

- [] Juice of 1/2 a lemon

- [] 2 cups sugar

- Add all ingredients into a heavy bottomed pot

- Bring to a boil over medium/high heat, stirring often

- Once boiling, reduce heat- you can now mash your fruit with a potato masher or fork until it's the texture you like. You will let this simmer for 30-45 minutes. Stirring often so it doesn't burn.

- Once it reaches your desired consistency ( it should be on the thicker side ), and has reduced by over half, remove from heat.

Thank you for sharing. I love blueberry preserves. My grandma used to can and freeze so many summer fruits and vegetables from the garden or from fruit stands. I wished I had paid more attention to how she was doing everything. I just know that there is nothing better than fresh preserves on some fresh bread on a cold winter morning. Not to mention making homemade chili with the canned tomatoes from the garden on a fall evening.
