6 slices of bread (brioche or Texas toast works best)
3 large eggs
½ cup milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp sugar (optional)
2 tbsp melted butter
Pinch of salt
Optional toppings:
Maple syrup
Fresh berries
Powdered sugar

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 6-cup muffin tin with butter or nonstick spray.
2. Cut or tear bread into small cubes (about 1-inch pieces) and divide evenly into the muffin cups.
3. Make the custard: In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, melted butter, and salt.
4. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread cubes, pressing lightly to soak all the bread. Let sit 5 minutes so it absorbs well.
5. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
6. Cool slightly, then remove from the pan.
