rating the Inferno Rising series

Hey fellow book lovers! Since you're looking into the Inferno Rising series, I wanted to dive a bit deeper than just my initial ratings. This series, penned by the amazing Abigail Owen, truly captivated me with its unique blend of fantasy, action, and romance. If you’re into dragon shifters, powerful heroines, and fated mates, you absolutely need to add these to your TBR pile! The core concept revolves around four phoenix sisters, each possessing a rare and potent phoenix power inherited from their mother. What makes them so special (and dangerous)? Every dragon king wants one – not for love, but for power. This sets up the central conflict: they're all in hiding, scattered across different secret locations, to escape the High Dragon King, who brutally murdered their parents. Each book focuses on a different sister's journey, her struggle to come to terms with her power, and her eventual confrontation with the tyrannical king. Let’s talk about the individual books, drawing from my own reading experience and ratings. I started with The Rogue King, which I rated 3.5 stars. I found it a tad bit slow getting through initially, but trust me, it absolutely picked up closer to the end! The world-building really started to shine, and the stakes became incredibly clear. It lays a fantastic foundation for the rest of the series. Next came The Blood King, which I gave a solid 4 out of 5 stars. This one really picks up a lot! The pacing is fantastic, and I completely fell for the character of Ladon. His dynamic with his phoenix mate is just *chef's kiss*. You can feel the tension and the growing romance, and the action sequences are much more intense. Then there’s The Warrior King, my absolute favorite of the series, earning a full 5 out of 5 stars! This was my favorite sister’s story, brimming with so much action and emotional depth. I won't spoil too much, but if you love a heroine who can hold her own and a hero who matches her strength, this book is for you. The plot twists kept me on the edge of my seat. And finally, The Cursed King also received a perfect 5 out of 5 stars from me. This book gave me strong emotional reactions! The journey of the main characters, especially the love for Airk, resonated deeply. It wraps up the overarching conflict beautifully while still giving its protagonists a compelling, personal story. It’s an incredibly satisfying conclusion to the sisters' saga. What truly makes the Inferno Rising series special is how Abigail Owen masterfully weaves together individual character arcs with a grand, overarching plot. Each sister faces unique challenges and has to make incredibly hard decisions, all while trying to figure out how to get rid of the High Dragon King. The bonds between the sisters, the intricate magic system, and the scorching chemistry with their dragon mates make this series an unforgettable read.
