How I met my husband & the nails I wish I had 👰🏼‍♀️🤵🏾‍♂️

More details in caption 👰🏼‍♀️🤵🏾‍♂️☁️

Let’s do the wedding nails I wish I would of had while I tell you how I met my husband.

I was visiting my sister in Texas and she was determined to set me up on a date. We went and visited one of her friends and as I walked in the door I saw the cutest little bull dog. I reached down to pet him and as I got up our eyes met. I was having a hard time not blushing. Because well, look at him. I honestly don’t remember what we talked about.

Later he texted me and asked where I’d want to go to dinner. I said Texas Roadhouse, of course and after we went to see the black panther.

We stayed up talking till 3am. He hugged me goodbye that night and the rest is history. Now we have been married for 4 years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Oh except that I wish I would have had these nails for our wedding. 🤍

My wedding nails I had were not what I wanted. Back then I couldn’t do my own nails and I still bit them. So I got acrylics and they were baby boomers but they didn’t look like it at all. She didn’t get the shape right either. The acrylics hurt my nails so much. So doing this was healing in a way to be able to do the nails I wish I would of had. 🥹

It was so nice putting on my wedding dress again (even if it just was the sleeve) ☺️ and getting to see how they match perfectly with the look. I actually sang this song to my husband at our wedding and I’m so glad I did it because I will never forget that. 🤍

I did a collaboration with a bunch of other talented nail artists. They also did nail looks they would have wanted or they do want in the future. 🤍 Check out my post for their amazing work. 🥲

If you are reading this leave a white heart below. 🤍 Thank you I appreciate you. 🥹

... Read morePicking out your wedding nails is such an exciting part of the planning process, but it can also feel a little overwhelming with so many options out there! After my own wedding day and wishing I had done things differently, I’ve learned so much about what truly makes for the perfect bridal manicure. It’s not just about looking good, but feeling absolutely confident and beautiful on your special day. When you’re thinking about your wedding nails, first consider a few key things. What does your dress look like? A classic gown might pair beautifully with elegant, simple nails, while a more modern or bohemian dress could open up opportunities for subtle designs or unique textures like glazed nails. Think about your overall wedding theme too – are you going for rustic charm, glamorous sophistication, or a relaxed garden party vibe? Your nails should complement, not clash, with your aesthetic. And of course, your personal style is paramount. If you never wear bright colors, your wedding day probably isn't the time to start, unless you're feeling adventurous! For many brides, choosing classy wedding nails means opting for timeless shades like nudes, soft pinks, or a sophisticated French manicure. These neutral choices also work wonderfully for bridesmaids, ensuring a cohesive and elegant look for your whole bridal party. Beyond the color, let's talk about styles. The classic French manicure remains a top choice for a reason – it’s eternally chic. For a modern twist, consider an ombré effect, often called "baby boomer" nails, which blend white tips into a natural pink base for a softer, more blended look. Sheer, milky white or pearlescent finishes, like the popular glazed nails, offer a subtle glow that catches the light beautifully. If you want a touch of sparkle, delicate glitter accents on one or two nails, or tiny pearls and rhinestones, can add a luxurious feel without being overpowering. For those who want something truly unique, don't shy away from incorporating a subtle element that reflects your personality or a shared interest with your partner – it’s your day to express yourselves! And here’s a crucial tip: nail preparation starts long before the wedding. Unlike my past self who bit her nails, you want your hands and nails to be in their best condition. Start a good hand and cuticle care routine months in advance. Hydrate regularly and consider cuticle oil. When deciding between gel, acrylic, or a natural manicure, weigh the pros and cons. Gel polish offers durability and shine without the thickness of acrylics, which I found painful in the past. Acrylics can provide length and strength, but ensure you go to a reputable technician who prioritizes nail health. Most importantly, always do a trial run for your wedding nails! This gives you a chance to see how they look with your dress, ensures you’re happy with the design and length, and helps you avoid any last-minute stress. Ultimately, your wedding nails are an extension of your personal style and a beautiful detail that will be captured in countless photos. Don't hesitate to speak up for what you truly envision and desire. Your nails should make you feel incredible, reflecting the joy and magic of your special day. It’s all about feeling radiant, from your head to your fingertips!
