How can you make sure your scalp is squeaky✨ clean? The Bentonite (aztec) clay mask can help. This mask will break sown all of the product that you use in your hair, with the potential to stay in your scalp even after you shampoo.
I’m a college student 🎒 so the water can also be a bit more harsh on my hair. So this mask will have multiple benefits to the damages that are cause on a day to day. This can be from constant ponytails, pulling, and manipulating my hair which can be a result of more shedding and less moisture.
To use this mask 📋: I have short/ medium length hair, which is also thick. Make sure your bowl and spoon is plastic! So I used 3/4 cups of powder and 1 1/2 cups of water. I slowly add the water in to get the right consistency not to clumpy or watery. Using water may help for sensitive scalps. But if you want a deeper clean, you can add apple cider vinegar(acv), slowly pouring it to get the right consistency. Some people used both water and acv.
Ps. You can also use this as a detoxifying face mask 😊
Let me know how you guys like this mask🙂 Also, what is your favorite mask to use?
... Read moreOkay, so you've heard about the magic of the detoxifying clay mask and how it can transform your hair – but how do you really make the most of it, especially for curls? I’ve been on this journey, and let me tell you, getting the application right for my curly hair and scalp makes all the difference!
First off, let’s talk application. After mixing your Indian Healing Clay AZTEC SECRET to that perfect, lump-free consistency (remember my tip about plastic bowls and spoons!), I like to section my hair. This is crucial for ensuring every inch of your scalp and every curl gets treated. I usually divide my hair into 4-6 sections. Starting with one section, I gently apply the clay mixture directly to my scalp using my fingertips. Think of it as a scalp massage – this helps to lift away all that built-up product, dirt, and oil. For me, this is the ‘squeaky clean’ feeling I crave, especially with how much product I use daily.
Once my scalp is covered, I’ll work the remaining clay down my hair strands. For curly hair, it's important to be gentle to avoid tangles. I focus on smoothing it down, making sure even the ends get some love. While bentonite clay won't magically repair split ends on curly hair (a trim is best for that!), a healthy, clean scalp and detoxed strands are key to preventing new damage and making your hair more resilient. When my hair feels refreshed and free from buildup, it's less prone to breakage, which means fewer split ends over time. This bentonite clay hair detox is truly a game-changer for overall hair health.
Now, for my fellow curly girls with low porosity hair – this mask is your new best friend! Low porosity hair often struggles with product buildup because the cuticles are tightly closed, making it hard for moisture (and products) to penetrate, but also hard for buildup to leave. This means products just sit on top, weighing it down. Bentonite clay, with its negative charge, effectively draws out those positively charged impurities and heavy metals without stripping your hair of its natural oils entirely. After using it, my low porosity curls feel lighter, more receptive to moisture, and my curl pattern is much more defined. It’s like hitting a reset button for my hair, allowing subsequent conditioners and stylers to actually work their magic. The aztec hair mask truly preps my hair for optimal conditioning, which is essential for damaged hair and achieving those Healthy Hair! RESULTS I dream of.
I usually leave the mask on for about 15-20 minutes. It will start to harden, which is normal. When it’s time to rinse, I hop in the shower and let the water soften the mask before gently rinsing it out thoroughly. This part can take a few minutes, but patience is key to avoid leaving any residue. After rinsing, my hair might feel a little 'squeaky' – that's when I follow up with a super hydrating, deep conditioner. This step is non-negotiable to restore moisture and balance after the detox. I’ve noticed that when I incorporate this bentonite clay hair mask scalp treatment into my routine, my hair feels incredibly soft, strong, and my curls truly pop. It’s become an essential part of my washday routine, ensuring my hair stays vibrant and thriving despite the daily challenges.
