What I Ate at a new Indian restaurant 💕

... Read moreOh my goodness, I still can't stop thinking about my recent trip to Masala Darbaar in Ocean Shores! If you're ever in the area and craving authentic Indian food with a twist, you absolutely HAVE to check this place out. I've been on the hunt for a great Indian spot, and this one just blew me away with its incredible flavors and welcoming atmosphere. Let's talk about the star of the show: their Lamb Tikka Masala. The OCR was right, it truly was a '10/10 Lamb Tiki Masala'! The lamb was incredibly tender – what I'd call 'perfect lamb' – melting in my mouth with every bite. The sauce was rich, creamy, and had just the right balance of aromatic spices, not too overpowering but full of deep, comforting flavor. Paired with their freshly baked, warm naan bread and fragrant basmati rice, it created the ultimate 'indian curry spread naan rice' experience. I honestly could have eaten two plates! The way the fluffy naan soaked up every bit of that delicious sauce was just divine. While I went for the lamb, I heard amazing things about their Butter Chicken too! If you're new to Indian cuisine or prefer a milder, slightly sweeter curry, butter chicken is always a fantastic choice. It’s usually a crowd-pleaser and pairs perfectly with that same delicious naan, creating a delightful 'butter chicken naan table spread'. When dining at an Indian restaurant, I always recommend ordering a few dishes and sides to share. This way, you get to experience a variety of flavors and textures, making for a truly memorable 'table spread'. Think about getting a vegetable dish, maybe some dal (lentils), alongside your main curry like the tikka masala or butter chicken. Don't forget the raita (yogurt dip) to cool things down and clean your palate between bites! Now, for something completely different that surprised me on the menu: their seafood ramen! I know, ramen at an Indian restaurant? It sounds unexpected, but trust me, it was incredible. As the OCR noted, it quickly became 'my new favorite meal'! The broth was savory, packed with fresh shrimp, and all those delicious ramen toppings like a perfectly boiled egg and vibrant greens. I AM OBSESSED RAMEN, and this one was a pleasant plot twist to my Indian feast. It shows they're not afraid to innovate, and it totally paid off. A little tip if you're planning a visit: I went during a weekday evening, and it was comfortably busy. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great vibe. If you're unsure what to order from their extensive menu, don't hesitate to ask their staff for recommendations – they're usually super helpful and can guide you to dishes that suit your taste. Overall, Masala Darbaar in Ocean Shores is a definite must-visit. Whether you're a seasoned Indian food lover or curious to try something new and exciting, you'll find something delicious and memorable. I'm already planning my next trip back to try their other curries and maybe even another bowl of that amazing ramen!
