First time playing pickleball
Let’s just say, Vesha Pipes and I need some lessons from a Pickleball Pro! Eliza Brianne Dick and Rachael Moyer were extremely helpful to start our Pickleball journey. And thanks Molly Bodner Marra for cheering all of us on from The Kitchen at Pickle on Penn.
We had a great time and it’s a great workout as well.
Starting pickleball for the first time was an eye-opener in many ways. It’s not just a game but a fantastic way to get moving while having fun. I quickly realized that even though the rules seem simple, mastering the paddle control and court positioning takes practice. Having help from experienced players like Eliza Brianne Dick and Rachael Moyer made a huge difference—they guided us with tips on basics like serving, volleying, and dinking. This hands-on coaching helped me feel more confident on the court. One thing I didn't expect was how social pickleball is. The community vibe, especially at places like The Kitchen at Pickle on Penn, creates an encouraging environment where everyone cheers you on. Whether you're scoring points or learning from misses, the friendly atmosphere will keep you coming back. From a fitness perspective, pickleball offers an effective full-body workout without being overly strenuous. It improves hand-eye coordination, sharpens reflexes, and boosts cardiovascular health. Playing with friends turns exercise into entertainment, which is a perfect recipe to stay consistent in any fitness routine. I’m already looking forward to more sessions and maybe even some formal lessons to improve my skills and enjoy the game to its fullest.
