Finding Purpose When Life Feels “Meaningless”

Sometimes the Bible says things that make you stop and rethink everything you thought you understood about life.

Ecclesiastes did that for me.

At first, I used to think it was depressing… until I read it with new eyes.

Solomon wasn’t hopeless — he was honest.

He had everything we chase — success, status, money, admiration — and still said it was “meaningless.”

Not because life has no purpose…

But because life has no purpose without God at the center.

Reading Ecclesiastes reminded me that the things we cling to won’t satisfy us.

Purpose isn’t found in achievements or titles — it’s found in becoming the woman God designed.

And every season, even the uncomfortable ones, are shaping you into HER.

The healed, empowered, restored version of you.

What stood out to you the first time you read Ecclesiastes?

... Read moreEcclesiastes is a profound book that challenges us to look beyond the surface of our accomplishments and possessions to find true purpose. Solomon’s repeated phrase, "Meaningless, meaningless... everything is meaningless," initially sounds bleak, but it actually points us toward a deeper spiritual truth: life’s purpose cannot be fulfilled without God at the center. Solomon, despite his immense wealth, status, and influence, recognized that worldly success alone cannot satisfy the human soul. This insight resonates deeply with many who feel lost or empty despite achieving societal markers of success. The key takeaway is that meaningful living is about aligning with God’s design and calling rather than chasing external validation. This perspective invites us to reflect honestly on our own seasons in life. Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us that "to everything there is a season," meaning healing, growth, breakthrough, and purpose unfold uniquely for each person over time. Life’s uncomfortable or challenging seasons are not accidental but play a strategic role in shaping us into the healed, empowered, and restored individuals God intends. If you’re feeling the weight of meaninglessness, consider asking God reflective questions such as: "What are You teaching me in this season?" "Who are You calling me to become?" and "What purpose are You preparing me for?" Purpose begins with seeking God’s presence and wisdom rather than striving for clarity on our own. Embracing this journey is a powerful act of faith. It requires releasing habits or mindsets that distract from your divine purpose and learning to see yourself through God’s eyes. This transformation is ongoing and deeply personal. Remember, God does not create anything without purpose. If you are alive and breathing, your life has an intentional calling that includes growth, healing, service, and impact. By trusting in God's timing and guidance, you can navigate life’s seasons with hope and discover the woman you are meant to become—one who embodies purpose beyond mere achievements.
