... Read moreWhen I first heard the term 'never again list,' I thought it was just about avoiding past mistakes. But through my own journey of navigating tough times, I’ve realized it’s so much more than that. For me, it became a powerful tool for spiritual growth and finding my purpose, even when trials seemed unbearable. It’s easy to get stuck in the pain when things go wrong. I know I have. There were moments I felt completely lost, questioning why certain hardships had to happen. But then I started reflecting on what I didn't want to experience again, not just the external events, but my internal reactions, the patterns I fell into, or the boundaries I failed to set. This isn’t about wallowing in regret; it’s about empowering yourself for the future. My 'never again' list isn't a collection of regrets; it's a testament to valuable lessons learned. For instance, after a particularly challenging period, I put 'never again will I neglect my spiritual well-being for external pressures' on my list. Or 'never again will I ignore my gut feeling when making a big decision.' These aren't just rules; they're anchors that remind me of how I've grown and how much stronger I've become. The OCR mentioned Genesis 50:26, which talks about God using difficult times for good. This resonated deeply with me. It’s hard to see the 'good' when you're in the midst of it, but looking back, I can truly say that some of my most profound growth came from those 'never again' moments. It reminds me that even when *I* couldn't see a way through, there was a greater plan at play. God truly does allow us to go through difficult times, and I've experienced firsthand how He can use every single one of those experiences, no matter how unfair or unjust they felt at the time, for good. Creating this list helped me process my experiences. It helped me identify triggers and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, I focused on what I needed to learn and change to avoid similar pitfalls. For me, this often involved digging deeper into my faith, seeking wisdom, and strengthening my inner resolve. It’s about building resilience from the inside out. I encourage you to try creating your own 'never again' list. Start by thinking about challenging situations you've faced. What lessons did you learn? What actions or mindsets contributed to the difficulty, and what will you do differently next time? Perhaps it’s 'never again will I let fear dictate my choices,' or 'never again will I internalize someone else’s negativity.' Write them down, not as a burden, but as a roadmap for your future self. It’s a powerful way to honor your past struggles by transforming them into foundations for a purposeful and resilient life. This practice has been incredibly healing for me, turning what felt like setbacks into true stepping stones.
