Hamhocks and Beans-

One 32 oz bag of pinto beans

One large yellow onion

One 32 oz box chicken broth

2 c. water

One 8 oz bag of diced ham

Chicken flavor Better Than Bouillon (for extra flavor if needed)

The night before you plan on having the hamhocks and beans, soak the beans overnight. Remove from bag and place in a large bowl. Fill with water until beans are completely covered. Let soak overnight.

The next morning, drain beans into colander and rinse well. Put beans in a crockpot.

Add hamhock and place in the center of the beans. Chop onion (to whatever size you desire) and add to beans. Pour in the whole 32 oz box of chicken broth and 2 c. of water.

Turn on crockpot to highest setting and let cook for 4 hours. Add 8 oz bag of diced gam and continue to cook on high for another 4-5 hours. If your beans need a bit more flavor, add 1-2 tsp. of chicken flavor Better Than Bouillon. If the beans are not thickened to your liking, add a bit of cornstarch slurry (2 Tbsp. cornstarch and 1/2 c. hot water) to the beans and heat until thickened. Enjoy!
