... Read moreBreastfeeding is often described as one of the most intimate and nurturing experiences a mother can share with her child. From my journey breastfeeding my third baby, I've come to appreciate not only the physical nourishment breastmilk provides but also the emotional bond it creates. This connection is something truly ineffable yet profoundly felt—a bond I'll never be able to put fully into words. The special moments of nursing foster closeness and build trust between mother and baby, which can positively impact the baby's development and emotional well-being. World Breastfeeding Week is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about these benefits and encourage support for breastfeeding mothers everywhere. Beyond the emotional aspects, breastmilk offers unparalleled nutritional benefits packed with antibodies that help strengthen a baby’s immune system. It adapts to your baby’s changing needs over time, something formula cannot replicate. For mothers, breastfeeding can aid in postnatal recovery and reduce the risk of certain health issues. Of course, every mother’s breastfeeding journey is unique and can come with its challenges. Support networks, accurate information, and encouragement from family and community play vital roles in helping mothers continue nursing if they choose. Embracing these moments during World Breastfeeding Week reminded me how lucky I am to share this special journey with my baby. For anyone able to nurse, it’s truly a priceless experience that goes beyond just feeding—it’s about love, connection, and growth.

How much breastmilk does my baby need?
Research shows that between about 1 month and 6 months, breastfed babies typically take in 25–30 oz of milk per 24 hours, whether directly from the breast or by bottle. That total stays pretty consistent until solids begin. If you divide that total daily intake by the number of feeds, most babies
