Starting solids with a baby can be both exciting and nerve-wracking, especially when introducing new foods like chicken. As I experienced on day 28, it’s completely normal to face moments where your baby might cough or seem to choke. This doesn’t always mean danger; sometimes, babies are just learning to handle new textures and swallows. Watching them closely and ensuring that the food is appropriately soft and small enough to avoid choking is key. Of course, always keep your doctor’s contact handy for peace of mind. Another common hurdle is transitioning your baby from bottles to sippy or straw cups. It can take some babies longer to master these skills. Patience is essential here—keep offering the cup in different positions, and don’t give up because eventually, they will get used to the new drinking style. Have you tried cups with handles or soft spouts? These are often easier for little hands and gums. Also, involving your baby in meal times and letting them see others use cups can encourage mimicking. Based on my experience, joining parent communities online or local groups can provide additional support and tips. Every baby’s learning curve is different, and sharing stories helps new parents feel less alone and more prepared. Remember, starting solids is a big step for your baby’s development, and while there might be a few hiccups, with care and persistence, your baby will thrive. Don’t hesitate to reach out for professional advice if you ever feel unsure, and keep celebrating each small milestone along the way!
