What really helped me was taking a step back and focusing on understanding the fundamentals. Starting small and learning how to frame effective prompts made all the difference. One thing I learned is that ChatGPT doesn’t work like a simple search engine; it responds best when you guide it clearly and specifically. Experimenting with different ways of asking questions or giving instructions helped me unlock the potential of the AI for generating ideas, writing drafts, or even coding help. I also found value in creating a personal ‘blueprint’ or routine around how I use ChatGPT daily. For example, I keep a list of prompt templates that work well for my needs, which speeds up my workflow and reduces frustration. Interestingly, the process felt like co-creating with an AI version of myself, much like the idea of ‘Jean’—a persona representing the AI side of me—which made the experience more relatable and less intimidating. This mindset shift helped me embrace the technology as a creative partner rather than a tool to master overnight. Lastly, I encourage everyone new to ChatGPT or AI to focus on learning in stages—start with the basics before jumping into complex uses. This gradual approach builds confidence and sets a solid foundation for more advanced tasks down the line. The key is persistence and curiosity, paired with a willingness to experiment and learn from each interaction.
