Souper Hot Pot

I was fully convinced this was about to be a $30+ situation… and I was very wrong.

Tried Souper Hot Pot and built my own bowl, noodles, tofu, mushrooms, veggies… basically everything I wanted, and somehow the total came out to under $20

Portions were solid, broth had real flavour, and the whole build-your-own experience felt way more luxe than the price suggested. Definitely one of those “wait… hold on” Toronto food moments.

Would you have guessed the price before the reveal? 🍜

... Read moreIf you're like me and have always thought that build-your-own hot pot meals in Toronto would break the bank, Souper Hot Pot is a refreshing surprise. What really stood out was how customizable the experience is—you get to pick your broth, noodles, tofu, mushrooms (Enoki mushrooms are a personal favorite), and veggies, all by weight. This level of control means you can tailor your meal exactly to your taste and appetite. From my experience, the pricing is based on ingredient weight, but it never felt like I had to compromise on quality or portion because affordability was surprisingly maintained. The broth had rich, authentic flavors that made every bite satisfying, and the fresh ingredients tasted just right, which for me turned the whole meal into something special. I've tried other hot pots before, and the suspense of how much you'll eventually pay can be nerve-wracking — but at Souper Hot Pot, it was totally worth it. It’s become one of my go-to spots for affordable eats in Toronto, especially when I’m craving something comforting yet budget-friendly. If you haven't tried a customizable hot pot here yet, I highly recommend giving it a go. It’s a hidden gem for anyone wanting tasty and reasonably priced food in the city. Plus, if you care about dietary preferences, there's a vegetarian broth option and clear labels for allergens like nuts, which is great for peace of mind. For anyone exploring Toronto's foodie scene or just looking for a new affordable spot to enjoy, Souper Hot Pot really delivers on both flavor and value.
