I am tired
I’m tired.
Not the kind of tired that a good night’s sleep fixes. I’m talking about the kind of exhaustion that comes from always being the one holding everything together.
Always remembering.
Always planning.
Always making the decisions.
Always carrying the mental load that no one else seems to notice.
People often say, “You’re so strong,” but what they don’t realize is that sometimes being strong isn’t a choice. Sometimes you’re strong because no one else steps in. You become the planner, the fixer, the reminder, the problem solver, the emotional support, and the one everyone depends on… until you can’t remember what it feels like to simply let go.
There are days when I don’t want to be in charge. I don’t want to make another decision. I don’t want to be the one who has to figure everything out or keep everyone else’s world from falling apart.
For just a little while, I want someone to look at me and say,
“I’ve got this. Go rest. I’ll handle it.”
Not because I’m incapable…
Not because I’m weak…
But because even the strongest people get tired of carrying everything alone.
Sometimes the greatest act of love isn’t grand gestures or expensive gifts. It’s taking the weight off someone’s shoulders without them having to ask. It’s noticing they’re drowning before they have to say they’re struggling.
I don’t want to control everything.
I don’t want to have all the answers.
I just want to know that, every once in a while, someone is willing to carry me the way I’ve spent so much of my life carrying everyone else.
Because even the people who seem like they have it all together are silently wishing someone would simply say…
“Don’t worry. I’ve got this.” ❤️
